Hull City is about to change hands as international bidders make their interest known in what has been referred to a takeover by the football media in the UK.
SportyCo has announced that they are bidding for Hull City, with a bid of $45m being lined up.
The Hull City Supporters’ Trust apparently approves this bid and it sounds like there will definitely still be some important decisions made. Hull Daily Mail reports that if SportyCo wins the bid, its fans will be included into ownership structure and as such able to work with consortium on team matters.
The idea of crowdfunding through cryptocurrency is not as straightforward in sports. The deal planned by SportyCo with the aid of Hull City Supporters Trust will be an interesting experiment to see how it goes!
SportyCo is a new way to raise money through cryptocurrencies. Unlike other platforms, instead of donating your hard earned cash you purchase Sportysp tokens and then trade them for dollars on their exchange so they can use it as funding when needed!
We welcome the direct approach made by SportyCo to assist them in their proposal and are encouraged by their willingness to offer greater supporter representation than the current owners and hope this is a move that is replicated by alternative owners should their offers be accepted by the Allam family.
