The European football body Uefa has announced that they’re expanding their partnership with Topps, which will lead to the creation of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for its club competitions.

Topps is expanding its digital offerings with NFT’s that will be based on iconic moments from football history.

Topps has been the official collectibles partner of Uefa’s club competitions for six years, as well as having similar agreements in place with Germany’s Bundesliga and North America’s Major Soccer League.

As UEFA’s exclusive partner for collectables, we are not only taking a huge step towards the future together, but we’re also taking collectibles to the next level. Only Topps will offer physical and digital collectables products for the UEFA Champions League and all other UEFA club competitions from the 2021/22 season onwards.

Football teams and organisations are all jumping on board the NFT train! The latest to join is Spain’s La Liga, who announced they will be partnering up with Sorare – a blockchain digital collectible and fantasy platform.
