UEFA is inviting proposals for the 2021-24 UEFA Champions League seasons and is actively seeking partnerships in four areas:

  • Cryptocurrency/NFT platforms or exchanges
  • Cryptocurrency/NFT providers
  • Fan tokens
  • Other blockchain-based products

According to UEFA “Proposals for product rights can be for one or a number of the categories listed. Product licensing rights are available on a global basis and may be combined with a local market sponsorship package , with sponsorship rights focussing on the United States and/or China and a number of surrounding markets (namely Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore and Thailand).”

This new marketing initiative has been launched after Uefa announced in September that their partnership with Topps, a company that creates trading cards and stickers for sports enthusiasts across Europe, will lead to the creation of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) within UEFAs club competitions!
